About the motive

The classic fisherman is available in many vintages, the most famous of which was not even a fisherman but worked on a lifeboat.
On the tray is an interpretation of a photo taken in 1948 by Henrik Lindenhag. The person portrayed is the fisherman August Kihlman from Käringön in Bohuslän on Sweden's west coast.
With his eyes in the distance and his beloved pipe in the corner of his mouth, the aged fisherman is rowing out to catch lobster and pike.
