About the motive

The picture shows a Papilio machaon butterfly against a green background, which may be vegetation. It glides majestically through the air with outstretched wings. The painting is suitable as a solitaire or on a painting wall.

Butterflies are not easy to photograph because they only sit still for a short time at a time to suck nectar. But it's worth it to get a useful picture to draw. This particular species is very beautiful and also one of Sweden's largest butterflies, it can grow up to 9 cm between the wingtips.
